Two cars sustained significant damage in a bomb blast that occurred in the early hours of Friday morning in Ipsonas village in Limassol.
A police spokesman said that at 2.30am on Friday morning, a 37-year-old woman’s car was destroyed by a bomb blast while her husband’s car, which was parked next to hers, also became engulfed by the nearby flames and destroyed too.
Limassol Fire Services rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze. The cars had been parked in an empty field next to their house.
Initial investigations attribute the blast to the detonation of a highly-volatile explosive device.
