Fire Service vehicles and two Kamov 32 helicopters were on Wednesday evening battled a fire in Polis Chrysochous, Paphos, putting it out by soon after 7pm.
Strong winds had made it particularly hard to put out the flames. The blaze was extinguished before reaching nearby buildings.
The authorities believe the fire started in a clump of reeds and are investigating its exact cause.
