Police are faced with a puzzling twist in the case of the car crash in Paralimni that took place early morning Sunday and claimed the life of a 79 year old British citizen. The 79 year old was said to have lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a wall of a house.
The man was incinerated by a fire that broke out in the car allegedly after having crashed into a wall of a house.
However, according to an eye witness – a local resident – the car was on fire before it crashed into the wall of a house. Things got even more complicated, when reportedly flammable material was located in the car, including petrol.
Police are puzzled from the latest evidence and are looking into the possibility that the accident of the 79 year old may be connect to an arson case which involved the burning down of a motorcycle rental shop which was just metres away from the scene of the accident.
Evidence connecting the two cases may not be strong at the moment, however police officials told Cyprus Weekly that the police are looking into a possible connection between the two cases.
