A 22-year-old woman narrowly missed being burned alive when the car she was driving crashed into a road barrier on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway before bursting into flames.
The woman was able to escape from the burning vehicle before the flames spread to the driver’s seat.
Fire Services spokesman, Andreas Kettis announced that the accident occurred at the Moni exit late last night, and from the resulting fire, half a hectare of scrub was burnt.
Three Fire Services vehicles responded to the call and had contained the fire by 1.38am on Thursday morning.
